Latest news!

Our information and circulation desk is now closed due to the relocation of the library's books to Musik- och teaterbiblioteket at Torsgatan 19. However, you can still visit us by appointment. In the top menu you can find more information about each department.

Sveriges Teatermuseum (the Theatre Museum of Sweden) is now a part of Statens musiksamlingar, Sweden's national institution for music, theatre and dance. Major changes have already taken place, and more will follow during 2010.

All exhibitions will be held at Musik- och Teatermuseet at Sibyllegatan 2. On April 17 the birth of the new museum was celebrated with the opening of the exhibition Scenmagi - teater, dockteater, musik. This exhibition also features the collections from Marionettmuseet, another addition to Musik- och Teatermuseet.

Library, archive and photo collection are now part of Musik- och teaterbiblioteket. During 2010 the library's books will be moved there while the archive and photo collection will remain at Gäddviken.

Information about ongoing changes will be posted on this website!

Exhibition in Uppsala

I teaterns garderober

Upplandsmuseet is currently showing the exhibition
I teaterns garderober
, a collaboration between Uppsala stadsteater and Upplandsmuseet.

This exhibition presents a selection of stage costumes from a number of different performances at Uppsala stadsteater.

The exhibition also gives an insight into the work process of a theatre's costume departement.
